Not too early: what to do at QB?

Stick with Fields and let Russ walk, it's better to try and build around Fields instead of wasting draft capital in a weak QB Draft.

Hopefully next year's draft can provide a QB if Fields proves unworthy.
This is my thinking also. See if Fields will take a reasonable 2 yr deal. Sign Allen as #2 and sign the QB’s from NDSU & SDSU as UDFA’s

Pick 2 DL, 2 WR’s, a CB, OG, OT

I'll dispute that. Did you watch Fields with the Bears? His 6-game stretch here was significant improvement. 10 TD 1 INT and 4-2 record. I think there's some hope that a full year in the system and designing an offense around him, not Russ, could garner another boost to his performance. We'll see......
Keep in mind that the O was expected to be run by Russ from the get go, and we all know how Tomlin feels about changing plans.

If Fields will take substantially below market value, then fine, roll the dice with him, but they opted out of his 24ish million 5th year option and he probably signs for more than that with how the market is... I wouldnt spend 25mil or more on him.. I certainly wouldnt go 35 to 40 that a meh starter commands now...

If we run the same offense we have over the past few seasons there isn't any reason to pay anyone that type of money. Simply bring in any journeyman looking for a starting gig that will accept less money.

We know nothing will change with the HC. I know the end result will stay the same so I prefer a new QB that wasn’t on the roster last year. At least that will be fresh when the coaches won’t be.

Yep. Simply bring in an affordable vet journeyman to play qb for us. I wouldn't even waste a draft pick on a qb.

Exactly, it really sucks being a Steeler fan right now.
It does. My friend that was over last night said the same thing as I said that he didn’t know how many games he could watch the upcoming season . When you know 100 percent that the product isn’t and won’t be good enough and know they are ok with that… it is a hard pill to swallow.

The German fan that is my sisters husbands best friend has thrown a lot of shade towards Mike.

The fan base is fed up and it extends out of the country.

I'm just glad it's finally starting to been seen more and more

All these click bait folks need to stop the nonsense about Rodgers. The dude is in his 40's! He better not be even remotely considered.

Exactly! And hello everyone! Just wanted to see what the thoughts of keeping Justin...but like earlier said in this thread, he is in year 5, let's move on to more realistic. Let's go sign some receivers, sign Justin, lets play run and gun! It seems like it would make more sense than trying to force something that is not going to happen. IMO...

Listen rookie, and welcome to the board BTW, you need to take all of that realism and common sense and toss that right into the toilet. In the realm of Capt Cool Shades they run the ball, inflict their will, never live in their fears or any other component with which doesn't fit their mold. They continue to run a defensive scheme of two down linemen nickel packages on third and short because they have competitive DNA and things of that nature.

The standard is the standard!!

Capice'??

Your love affair with Daniel's is ridiculous. He was the #2 over all pick. Fields was #11, not only that, Fields has had 4 different OC'S. That's how you can call him developing, because he has yet to have type of consistency

There are a lot of videos out there dissecting Fields play the first six games, all showed signs of improvement.
Why do you talk logical w/ Cooch??? You'd have a better chance of success swimming w/ sharks...

That is truly the real struggle as a fan!

I don't agree, 5 years is enough that we should have seen more signs.

In your career here, as short as it has been,—————— is enough as well.

Salute the nation

I'm leaning toward Fields on a short-term deal and take my chances on a QB in 2026.
That seems like the best plan on face except we’d be investing another premium QB pick and turning him over to a head coach who can’t develop a Polaroid picture

TJ Watt is the last 1st round pick to pan out under Tomlin. Until Tomlin is gone it’s rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic
