Didn't seem right to continue to post political BS in the Justice Ginsburg thread, so here it is (from 2016 where it was so critical to have a full high court):

The look on Stephanopoulos's face is classic. Reminded me of Kathy Bates in Misery.

So I'm curious what happens if Trump nominates someone, the election happens, but Republicans still maintain the Senate.

On Biden's first day he can withdraw the nominee, correct? Even if the Senate wants to continue with hearings/confirmation? It doesn't have to be a mutual decision like in 2016 (when both Trump AND a republican Senate wanted to get rid of Merrick Garland).

Also, I guess it is very possible that if we get to confirmation hearings/votes, it COULD be with many Senators that are lame ducks and/or voted out already based on November elections? I mean, by then Murkowski and Collins might have already lost their seats (just saying) and they STILL won't vote at that point to confirm a conservative justice? Really?

Also, what arrows are really in the Houses' quiver? What is impeachment going to do?

I don't see how the Republican's can't or won't push this through, even if confirmation vote happens BETWEEN the election and new Senate coming in.

Remember, there is ALSO a 3 week window BETWEEN when the new Senate comes in January 3rd and when the new President comes in January 21st. Is there any chance confirmation could happen then?

Man, this is going to be a clusterfuck. Especially with a contested election.

I'm actually quite interested to watch how this all goes down over the next 4 months. I mean, this is a real civics lesson happening in real life.

At first I didn't want him to nominate. I wanted him to take the high road. Now, I want him to nominate someone, and call their bluff. I am getting DAMN tired of the left being bullies, and no on doing anything about it.

Good morning, Sunday morning....WTF? I dont know how this lady is so respected. She is a space cadet...

What's with Pelosi and the scarves? Either recent plastic surgery, or there isn't enough left for the surgeon to work with.

Lindsay Graham is still red-assed about how the Dems treated Kavanaugh. The vote is on!

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) stated that Senate Republicans have “the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburg’s replacement before the election.” And said that the Senate Judiciary Committee will report the nomination so there can be a vote on the floor of the Senate on the nominee prior to the election and that Republicans will confirm Ginsburg’s replacement prior to the election. Graham also vowed that the nominee to replace Ginsburg on the Supreme Court will be supported by all the Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Graham said, “We’ve got the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburg’s replacement before the election. We’re going to move forward in the committee. We’re going to report the nomination out of the committee to the floor of the United States Senate so we can vote before the election. That’s the constitutional process. After Kavanaugh, everything changed with me. They’re not going to intimidate me, Mitch McConnell or anybody else. … The nominee is going to be supported by every Republican in the Judiciary Committee, and we’ve got the votes to confirm the judge — the justice on the floor of the Senate before the election. And that’s what’s coming.”

I like Lindsay Graham. I hope he puts a hot poker up their ***** and fills that seat. The way the Dems treat Trump, his administartion, his family and how they dragged Kavanaugh through the mud: screw them! The Republicans don't owe them ****. The ones that are caving on the R-side, screw them, too!
