2014: The Seventh Ring Is In Sight

Sure.

Its as valid of a prediction as any other at this point.

I predict 10-6 like I do every year.

Ron speaks truth. Until proven otherwise, this bunch of under-achievers will choke again. 8-8 sounds about right.

7-9 and another waste of the "Ben years" seems likely to me,

You can never, ever count out a team with a HOF QB still in his prime.

Here we go Steelers. Here we go!!! Can't wait!!! Why not us and why not this year? (Rhetorical Question)

I really hope we win #7 this year, but I have no idea how we could even come close to beating the Broncos this year. The good news is that no one else in the AFC looks to be that good.

Who was the *****, predicting 16-0

What the ***** wrong with 19-0

Salute the nation

Because Peyton chokes in the post season and we will repeatedly hit his a&$!!! By the way this is probably the last year for Taylor and Troy. Look for them to go all out and not hold anything back. Plus Shazier and Timmons running the fire zone blitz down there throat they won't know what's hitting them.

6 and 10 we are in a rebuilding program. The team will look lots better than the record indicates and we loose lots of close ones this year. This will be the year of the rookie mistakes. I expect they will have flashes of brilliance and follow them with moments of utter failure. We will have high picks again but be building another winner.

Nice video links.

12 and 4 and we knockin on that door!

hi

I definitely don't think it's out of the question

Our offense was really starting to get in gear the second half of last year, and we've only improved it (on paper). We could easily score 27-28ppg this season if Wheaton and Bryant (maybe even *** ******) are productive and the line stays healthy

On the other side, I think it'll be pretty hard to do worse than last year. The CB position does worry me, but I think this defense can be great if the young guys pan out. Worilds needs to continue his strong push from last year, Jarvis needs to at least approach double-digit sacks, Tuitt needs to start and be a force, and Shazier needs to be what we drafted him to be.

Sure that's a lot of "ifs", and taken all together, maybe not entirely likely that they all happen just how I described. But each one doesn't seem so unlikely on their own merits. To me, it's really a matter of health, the 1st and 2nd year talent becoming the players we drafted them to be, and Worilds having a big year. With all that, we can bring home number 7.

I don't see how the offense only improved. They lost their 2nd best WR in Cotchery and their 3rd best WR in Sanders. Wheaton hasn't shown anything yet and Bryant is raw. Also there is no way in hell they are scoring 28 PPG. No Steeler team in the history of the world has scored more than 26 PPG and that was in the era of 14 game seasons. No modern Steeler team has come close to that. Last year even when piling up a ton of cosmetic points against NE they only managed 23.7 PPG.

The only saving grace they have is the schedule which is about as easy as you can get in the NFL. They don't play Seattle, SF, GB, NE, or Chicago. They also don't have to play Oak. Then they don't leave the ETZ but one time against Tenn. On top of that they play 4 of the worst teams in the league 4 weeks in a row (TB, Jax, Clowns, Texans). If they can't win with that schedule then shame on them.

You do remember what happens when they play bad teams, right?

Yes, but I also remember what happens when they play good teams like NE.... At least this year they don't play Oakland. They aren't going anywhere until they can man up against bad teams. How can they not having a winning record when they play this schedule? This schedule is setup to win. Even their tough games are in their favor. They play the Saints (dome team) at home the last week in nov. Not sure how the league could have given them an easier schedule.

MT will unleash hell this year and they go 10-6.

I think Polamalu got a 2-year contract extension, so he'll probably be around until 2016.
