Week 3 College Football
Penn State has a bye which means this is a good week to get things done around the house. Only 2 ranked matchups but several interesting matchups and rivalry games. It's strange to see rivalry games so early in the season but with so much conference realignment, I guess it's necessary as some are no longer conference games.
Friday Night
20 Arizona at 14 Kansas State 8:00 FOX KSU -7
Cat Fight! Wildcats vs Wildcats. There are only 2 matchups of ranked teams this week and this is one of them. Chance to see Arizona's freak WR Tetairoa McMillan.
Saturday
4 Alabama at Wisconsin 12:00 FOX Ala -16
this is the first time Bama has traveled above the mason dixon line since they played Penn State in 2011 where Bama survived due to every penn state player having food poisoning and and the refs all had glaucoma. It is known. Wisconsin has had to rough games vs Western Michigan and South Dakota so this one could get ugly. Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell coached Cincinnati against Bama in the playoff a few years ago.
16 LSU at South Carolina 12:00 ABC LSU -7
LSU lost week 1 vs the real USC. Now they play imposter USC. S Car is 2-0 and coming off a blowout of Kentucky. LSU needs this win to get back on track. Brian Kelly's seat will start getting hot if they lose.
24 Boston College at 6 Missouri 12:45 SEC Network Miz -16
What's up with a 12:45 start time? Is this a football game or a Dental appointment? This is the other ranked matchup of the week. Bill O'Brien has BC 2-0 and ranked. BC has a good win vs Florida State. FSU is struggling but at least they are a talented opponent. Mizz has played Murray State and Buffalo. MIzz has much more talent but hasn't been in a battle yet.
West Virginia at Pitt 3:30 ESPN2 WVU -1.5
The backyard brawl. WVU was overmatched athletically vs Penn State week 1 but bounced back and had a good game against Albany. Pitt seems to have found an offense this year. They are coming off a 21 opoint comeback win vs Cincinatti. This should be a good game to watch. Unless you have DirecTV.
9 Oregon at Oregon State 3:30 FOX Ore -16.5
This game was always knows as the Civil War but because we now allow internet Karens to dictate things, it's no longer called that. Oregon had a lot of preseason hype but they have been very unimpressive so far with a 10 point win vs Idaho and needed a last second FG to beat Boise State.
18 Notre Dame at Purdue 3:30 CBS ND -9.5
Last week ND seemdd to have clear sailing to the playoffs, even if they lost to USC down the road. The double edge sword of an easy schedule is you better not lose one where you're favored. AFter that loss to Northern Illinois, they may have to run the table to get a playoff spot.
Texas A&M at Florida 3:30 ABC TAM -3.5
Two teams with high hopes that took bad week 1 losses. TAM seems to be overrated every year. Every year they get rated high and flame out. Somebody is going home with a 2nd loss. If it's Florida, then their coach Billy Napier may not make it through the season. Florida will likely play top QB recruit DJ Lagway along with Graham Mertz who sucks. May as well go down swinging with the young guy.
Washington State at Washington 3:30 Peacock Wash -4.5
The Apple Cup. Now Pac 12 vs Big 10. This series may come to an end in a few years when the contract expires. Wash State is not happy about it. Both teams are 2-0. Wash State's offense has scored a bunch of points including 37 vs Texas Tech last week. Wash has not alolowed a TD yet but that's was against Weber State and Eastern Michigan. This could be an entertaining game.
Colorado at Colorado State 7:30 CBS Colo -7
The wheels may be coming off at Colorado. Deion is not a coach. He has no interest in anything other than setting up Shedeur and Hunter to look good. Shedeur left the field early last week after getting dominated by Nebraska who has a real coach who is making his team better. Playing Travis Hunter 100 snaps per game is ridiculous. I hope he doesn't ruin that kid.
