Not related, but I had nowhere to post it; during pre-game festivities, Jimmy Nance said that any football fans that didn't have a team to root for in the playoffs should be rooting for Buff/DET and not Pittsburgh. **** you, Jim.
Looks like all his partners tell them what to do, like the ***** he isYup. The nfl issued another butt-******* for Steeler Nation. Did anybody hear Brady after that call? I had to turn the sound up to see why we didn't have the ball.
(paraphrasing) Brady said he thought it should be the Steelers ball and started laughing nervously...his partner told him to stop laughing. Yeah, Brady, this is life as we know it in Steeler Nation...fun, huh?
And still, they were within a RUNNING BACK momentum killing fumble of possibly tying the game.
Not into conspiracy theories ... buuuuuut. A few momentum shifting calls went against the Steelers that shouldn't have yesterday, didn't they?
And still, they were within a Najee momentum killing fumble of possibly tying the game.
I have said it hundreds of times before, The NFL is not fixing the games, but they are sure as hel! doing things in an attempt to influence the outcomes. Not into conspiracy theories ... buuuuuut. A few momentum shifting calls went against the Steelers that shouldn't have yesterday, didn't they?

I think the issue is pre possession post possession. I think it should be anything before the catch of the punt or hitting the ground is pre possession. But regardless personal foul before returner catches ball should definitely be first down punting team. What was the difference btw this and a punter getting hit after he punts. Makes zero sense.Brady was pretty complementary of the steelers overall. Looks like the penalty occurred pre kick, but I don't like the rule regardless. I think if the penalty occurs on the down it should count as any other penalty. Only issue is there are alot of holds on returns and the kicking teams would be gettting a lot of cheap first downs.
damnit mendenhall!
The NFL wants games to be close at the end. They definitely didn't want blowouts in the best two games on the entire schedule that were going head-to-head on Sunday.I have said it hundreds of times before, The NFL is not fixing the games, but they are sure as hel! doing things in an attempt to influence the outcomes.
When you are fixing games, it takes WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE to pull that off. Too many loose lips to control, making it impossible. Now influencing games through the officials is a much easier thing. It has been shown that officials are making blatantly bad calls, this can be explained away as "not seen" or "happened to quickly". Now that replay has been implemented, it is making things much MORE OBVIOUS. They are not even trying to hide it any longer, as they have been allowed to get away with it for decades.
It started with the Patriot's cheating scandal, and the obvious "destruction" of the evidence, which they never suffered any consequences for. It will continue until the fans say "enough". I no longer spend money to support the sham in any way, shape, or form. If it were not for my BIL having season tickets to the Donks, I would no longer attend games in person. He pays for the tickets each year, so I am technically using a loophole. The most I spent was the last time I attended, and bought 6 beers and a couple hot dogs. The amount that the NFL received from my spending was marginal, though it did piss me off. I foresee no reason that my position will change in the future.
Pretty hard to get worked up over that call because Tomlin had already surrendered and thrown in the towel on the punt anyway. I read somewhere that punt is one of the highest ranked punts on the so called "Surrender Index" this season in all the NFL and in the 95th percentile of all gutless punts since 1995.
I'm sitting here in stunned disbelief that "Replay Assist from NY" somehow missed that.
Maybe we should go to "Replay assist from Punxatawney" or maybe just "Ed, from Brookline"........
