Well the news last night that Ben tested positive for CoVid really set the tone for this game before it ever started! If you had any questions as to whether or not Mason Rudolph was starting material in the NFL in his 4th year today's game should give you a resounding answer....NO HE'S NOT! The naysayers will say the weather was a big factor....however lets remember the Lions had to play in the slop too! Steelers run defense was absolutely pathetic today giving up 229 yds rushing the football to a one dimensional offense led by Jared Goff who at the end of Regulation had 49 yds throwing the football. This team made so many mistakes today I'm honestly surprised they didn't lose this game. I'm really numb after this game......it was a game the Steelers really should have won and needed to win as our schedule from here on out is pretty damn brutal! Our run Defense and tackling was absolutely pathetic today and there are important pieces missing on that Defense most notably Stephon Tuitt who's knee injury is not an issue according to reporters locally, but apparently the guy is mentally struggling with the death of his younger brother from June 5th. Devin Bust is another in a long line of First Round Draft BUSTS......Jarvis, Jones, Bud Dupree, Artie Burns, Devin Bush....Just terrible! Devin Bush is not cut out to be an NLF LB'er....he's soft, avoids contact and can't tackle.

Per Tomlin's Post Game:
Joe Haden - Mid Foot Sprain
TJ Watt - Hip & knee injury gotta be evaluated tomorrow
Kevin Dotson - Ankle
Trai Turner - Ankle

Game Balls:
Najee Harris - 26 car 105 yds, 4 rec 28yds....he also did good picking up the blitzes today
Alex Highsmith - 8 tackles today and seemed to turn it up a notch when Watt went down. He lost the edge on one of the Lions TD runs though that really hurt.
Tre Norwood - Kid played good today had 2 pass break ups and got screwed on the Roughing the QB play...Hockenson tripped him on that play.
Chris Boswell - Big time 51 yd FG to tie it at 16....was 3 for 3 today
James Pierre - He stepped up today when Haden went down in the 1st QTR. Made some nice plays.

Game Goats:
Dionte Johnson - I saw that fumble coming as he was running with the football and sure enough it happened....HOLD ONTO THAT BALL SON!
Pat Freiermuth - I love this kid but my god that fumble cost us a chance at a last second FG in OT.
Kendrick Green - ******* BRUTAL TODAY! That high snap over Rudolph's head in OT really ****** any hope on that drive!
Devin BusT - This guy should make a career change as a Matador....He can't tackle, avoids contact like the plague.....Another 1st Round BUST!
Steelers Run Defense - 229 yds rushing given up....For a while today no one of Defense could make a friggin tackle....vs a one dimensional offense....PATHETIC!

FU's:
Matt Canada - This guy is ******* TERRIBLE! 1st & Goal at the 5yd line and he calls 3 passing plays vs one of the worst rushing Defenses in the NFL! Then the G'damn WR handoffs as they come in motion behind the QB are not fooling anyone. This guy makes Bubble Screens look like Splash Plays.
Stephon Tuitt - Cmon son....your team needs you to step up and rejoin this team! If you can't do it....RETIRE! I have lost all patience with Tuitt. The guy should put a skirt on for his Retirement Press Conference!
Anthony Fauci - Your Gain of Function Research in China cost us this game! May you someday hang from the Gallows via Military Tribunal killing millions of Americans and your experiments on 44 beagle puppies. **** YOU!

I'd add Mason to the Goat list - too many high passes.

Ben needs to hurry up back because we would have won by 20 if he's on the field today...
I love you Berm.
May not agree with you on every point, but Damn, you're a good fan. And I like to think if the opportunity arose, we'd be friends.

Why, did Rooney fire Tomlin before the game?

When is the last time a Tomlin-coached team mauled a vastly inferior opponent?

I agree with everything except Freiermuth's fumble costing a chance at a FG. Pretty sure the clock runs out before we can clock the ball.

My most favorite scorched earth write up ever! The ending was sublime. Bravo!

Oh. ****.

The drinking just got to the "I love you man" stage.

Wig is drunk.

Drunk wig is fun wig. The M-80 comment had me crying.

This will be more entertaining than that awful game we managed to tie a winless team at home.

It takes serious skill to tie in today's NFL against a winless team.

Glad I don't drink...lol. I'm hammering coffee right now.

Just remember...the Eagles put up 44 points on this team. Even though Jalen Hurts was 9 of 14 for 100 yards.

We continue to play down to poor teams, and there is a simple explanation for it. Tomlin uses these games to try out new wrinkles, instead of focusing on what we're good at, or what's been working recently, we get new wrinkles to try out, they never work out, we put ourselves in a hole and rarely are able to dig out of them.

For the life of me, I do not understand why Ray Ray was the focal point of the offense today. He had more targets than Johnson, Claypool, Juju, or any other of our WR's have ever had in a game this year. After his 5th catch, the lions were pretty keen on him getting the ball. It's cold, it's rainy, the ball is slippery, the field is in poor condition, and we put Mason in shotgun all game long. The snaps continued to be high and we kept trotting out in shotgun... the snap over the head was bound to happen. Not only did it lead to the bad snap, it slowed down the run game when we needed it the most.

Mason was pathetic today. I don't know what's wrong with his mechanics, but they are all over the place. He was throwing high, or soft all game, and when we need a solid throw, he puts everything he has on it. He missed Ray Ray wide open in the EZ, he missed Johnson on a great slant, he missed Muth and forced to Ballage and OVER threw him for the INT. Absolutely horrible game for him, did not help his case to be the starting QB the Steelers in the future.

Anything that could go wrong, pretty much did. Fumbles at the worst times, injuries to big time players, poor decisions by both players and coaches. We had no issues adjusting to Detroit running the ball in the fourth quarter, but why did we wait until the fourth quarter to make that adjustment??

I pretty much agree with Chico on everything. Cept that highsmith play where he lost contain. He had two pulling lineman coming at him he squeezed it down and got no help from the inside backers.
Fu to Jerry O .

The next Steelers starting QB isn't on the roster. Right now, they have three below average QBs on the roster. God willing, none of them are on the roster next year.

He didn’t win it, he didn’t lose it either. He was pretty pedestrian with some good stuff mixed in between. I give him a C. Some of those slants to Johnson needed some touch. He was accurate but throwing them like he’s Ricky Vaughn.

Well, when you find out on Saturday that you're starting Sunday it doesn't give you a lot of time to get in synch with the skill players. He was good in the first half, 17/22, but the wheels came off in the second half. I hoped for better, but it wasn't the travesty some folks here are making it. We got back up play from a back up. Stunner.

Great first point! It felt like it was the first game all season they schemed to get a specific receiver the ball and it unfortunately was to no higher than their 5th best.

Mason had me fooled. I thought by now he took enough of a step forward to be a one year hold over guy. A guy who could compete for a Wild Card spot and step up in a big game against a bad team. I was wrong. He showed he can compete with the worst team in the league.

No game balls today. Not when you don't beat a zero win team this late in the season. Just an embarrassing performance and one of the worst games I've ever attended.

I wonder if that high school team will let Todd Haley out of his contract?

Hey on the bright side we gained 1/2 win on the division and ensured tiebreakers are virtually meaningless

On the less bright side

- for the second week in a tow we Tomlined against an inferior team

- Mason Rudolph, who i still think is better than people think, THREW 50 TIMES IN A TORRID DOWN POUR…. Everyone was dropping everything… passes weren’t accurate it was a mess

-I also like Canada… i see what he is trying to do and i think its going to be better eventually, but he has to be better situationally… some of the playcalls are tone-deaf to where the game is at the time…

- James Washington is a disappointment… i backed thst guy early but he isn’t making the contested catches…. Isn’t getting open deep and isn’t blocking worth a damn… he had several chances to make huge plays and failed

- Dionte Johnson had a few drops but it was his fumble that murdered us… again a Tomlin team isn’t aware that teams target the ball late in games

- muuth also had some drops and the fumble… this team isnt ready for bad weather

- Ray Ray mccloud should never be the centerpiece of the offense… he also nearly fumbled a punt kate but recovered it in the aor.. he continues to make questionable decisions on special teams

- the defense only allowed 26 points, despite tge rushing yards totals they are mostly blamless in this travesty

-I will call out Bush… he isn’t playing well and against teams rushing heavy on us he needs replaced

The other big goat is green… he really should have been goven a year to bulk up and learn the c position for a while…

It's HIS JOB TO BE READY AT ALL TIMES....He has ONE ******* JOB...
