Am I the only person that believes we could possibly lose this weekend in Jacksonville? They have 2 decent young WRS in Shorts and Hurns who could quite possible cause our DBs fits. They made some additions on defense and under Bortles (what I saw last couple weeks and in preseason) this offense is just more effective, fluid, and sound when he's under center. Speaking of Bortles....everything he does, mechanics, running, throwing, is a spitting image of Ben when he was a rookie and they are practically the same size. Its really uncanny. I see a young Ben every time I watch Bortles.

I just have this feeling that this coaching staff and team are so use to "******** the bed" against teams that we should dominate that I see another colossal failure on our hands. I just don't see the leadership from the coaches or the players. A few turnovers and sloppy play, on the road, and we lose again to another win-less team. I'm not saying this to stir ****...I'm saying this because I fear it's going to happen again. If Tomlin and Co thought last Sunday was rough...lose this game and see what happens.

And for an extra kick in the nuts Ziggy Hood probably plays extremely well.

You read this board and think no one else thinks that? Really?

Speaking of Bortles... "Blake Bortles completed 78.4 percent of passes in his debut. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it's the highest completion percentage in any first career start since 1960 (minimum 30 attempts)." http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2014/week/5

It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

If we come out and try to run the ball we are going to at least make it close. When a team is brutal in the secondary, we need to be a pass first team. When a team is bad against the run, sure rush away, but when you have a team like Jacksonville who is clearly abysmal when it comes to coverage and tackling in the secondary, you must exploit it, not score style points with steelernation by playing old school football.

Shorts isn't even playing. I honestly don't think it will be close. I believe they have too much pride to lose this week and don't even think it will be close. I think we win by at least 14.

And Hurns has been battling an ankle injury as well.

So these two young, injured receivers (one of whom may have already been ruled out for this game) are going to give our DBs fits?

Pride? This team hasn't had any of that since Bettis and Ward retired. Now they are a team that gets embarrassed by losing to a terrible team, or getting smoked by a good team and then they summon some "pride" to look good for a few quarters the next week, then they go right back to being satisfied and go back to sleep.

This pattern keeps repeating itself.

The probably will beat the hell out of Jax and then play like **** the next week vs Cleveland.

The sad part is that these days any team that plays hard for 60 minutes has a shot vs the steelers because the steelers are rarely willing to play hard for more than 40 or so on a good week.

Earlier today, a friend (not a Steelers fan) asked me if he should pick Pittsburgh in his survivor league this week. I responded with a resounding "NO"

That should answer your question

We are 6-9 in our last 15 games against teams with losing records, welcome to the Tomlin era without Cowher's nucleus of players.

What? We have DBs? I think that might be insulting to the position.

I had a couple of offers submitted to buy some tickets for the game, since it's the only time I ever get to see the Steelers in person. I decided I'd rather not waste the 2 hour drive and the ridiculous money Jag fans are overcharging for a Steeler game. I've only been able to go to 1 game in 7+ years (the 2008 Superbowl winning Steeler team that played a Sun night Jacksonville game) and I refused to be bothered with it this year.

So many Jax fans though are trying to ditch tickets because they hate going to a home game and feeling like the away team. I imagine no one is hurting by my decision to skip paying to see this game..we travel well and someone will be willing to do it.

This team has lost the last two times they went to Oakland. One of those times the Raiders were 2-14 when the season finished.

To say "could we possibly lose" is comedy gold at it's finest. It wouldn't shock me at all if we helped kickstart young Bortles' career on Sunday.

We just lost to Tampa and made Glennon look good......so......

IF we win, it's a last second FG by Sushi.

Maybe they need to go get a guy off of the couch the way the Bucs did to torch our ***.

Bunch of little girls on this board...

"Oh we suck so much!! We are gonna lose!!! Wah Wah!! Sand up my Vi-jay-jay!!!"

A pair of elederly blind recivers could give them fits.

At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if we lost, it wouldn't surprise me if we blew them out by 30 points and then got crushed by the Browns next week.

Our offense will put up pints, it's weather our defense can slow / stop theirs'. It will be like a home game with all the fans etc., but one big difference, it'll be a W-I-N !!!!!

Salute the nation

I have no expectations any more. It's much easier to watch games that way.

You read this board and think no one else thinks that? Really?

I guarantee you, in varying degrees, everybody on this board had that same thought ...even BAYinzer. It's been like that in Pittsburgh since they started the team....when in doubt, panic !

We always seem to have trouble with Jax. Going to their home will make it even tougher. If we don't come out in the gun and looking to score 30 plus, then we very well may lose.

Hell yea we can lose! Any team, on any given Sunday, is vulnerable. That's why you play the game.

I can certainly admit that we have fallen victim to several weak teams (although TB is better than most think). And that we absolutely should win this game- and I expect us to. But to sit here complaining, as if a loss is some statistical impossibility, is just silly.

I understand- its a football board and people want to get stuff off of their chest. I just never saw the effectiveness of whining, especially regarding things that have yet to occur.

I'm not a grammar Nazi but damn you're killing me. Pints? Weather? and theirs'... all in one sentence is too much :)
