More Tomlin and HOT Seat

Steelers haven't fired a coach since 1968 ?. Now I am worried Tomlin isn't getting fired and well retire a Steeler when he's 92 just like Lebeau.

If we don't show up at home against the Texans I expect Tomlin to be on the hot seat for sure.

As much as we want to blame Tomlin. He has not been able to coach this team with "his" coaches. Both Lebeau and Haley are Rooney choices. I could imagine most of us would not be happy after winning a Super Bowl that you couldn't choose your coordinator. The defense is in transition as the talent level isn't the same as past years. We are missing 3 starters. In addition, our defensive approach hasn't changed in15 years. We are still employing the same old fire zone blitzes from the Cowher days. We still have players sit and learn instead of learning on the field.

The offense is a mish mash. Are we a running team or are we a passing team. Haley is a turd plain and simple. We have a top 5 RB, top 5 WR a reliable TE yet cannot score in the redzone. We have blazing speed at WR and are running a dink and dunk offense. most of us salivated at the team speed @ WR & RB before the season began.....where is it. Haley will script the 1st 2 drives and doesn't appear prepared the remainder of the game thus Ben has to go no huddle.

The Browns were hurting on the DL and in the secondary but we insisted on pounding the ball without using play action and throwing the ball to back the secondary up. I am pissed more at the offense because we have the talent to score 30pts a game.

A bunch of utter bullshit. And yet another Tomlin apologist.

He is responsible for organizing it all, whatever you want to make yourself believe. It starts and ends with him.

I think that the problem in the red zone is Ben. I don't think that he can diagnose the play quick enough. We also lack a true red zone target, but im not sure why they don't use one of their 100 TEs down there.

Fire Tomlin and Haley. Ben calls his own plays the rest of the year while LeBeau is interim head coach. LeBeau retires at the end of the year. Off season we then get some fresh coaches with different ideas.

Lol
Because tricky grandpa Dick's system works so well these days

Munch, Offensive line coach, needs to stay. Look what he has done with the garbage he has been given. I think I read his line rating pass blocking 14th, run blocking 17th. Those are the HIGHEST we've had in quite some time. Keep Him !!!! Sorry, I love the guy, BUT Dick L. needs gently pushed out the door. Mike shades and Todd need literally escorted by security, out the door.

Salute the nation

Then maybe we ought to try harder to score when we're 20-40 yards away. If we can't punch it in in three plays inside the 5, I don't know what the **** else to say.

And his replacement would be "who" - in your mind??? There are NO SOCCER coaches in the NFL...

Does it really matter? I think we can be 6 - 10 without him, although I have no idea who the three remaining wins may be against.

Let's not forget Butler has been paid and promised LeBeau's job. He hasn't passed up other jobs for no reason, he is our D Coord as soon as LeBeau says he is done.

This is part of the problem. Who "promised" Butler the DC job? What has he done with the LB corps that makes anyone think he could manage the defense? This team is a steaming pile from top to bottom and I don't think anyone should be safe.

We'll beat the Colts, Ravens and split with the Bengals, and lose everything else.

No doubt, Jupiter. When we get inside the 10 and run 3 times and can't punch it in, we have problems. If teams are stacking the line, then someone must be open on every play. Either that or we are just that bad and can't run against a 4 man front.

No, they'll beat the Jets. And their next best chances at winning will be the **** and maybe Falcons or Chiefs (those are two teams that are tough to read right now.) Luck and Brees will destroy this defense. They normally split with the Ravens, but that's doubtful this year. I bet the Bungles beat them twice too.

It's too bad they can't play against their own defense; it seems like every time an opposing team is inside the 5, they have a receiver running wide open in the end zone.

They have proven they can lose to anyone. They need to start playing like it means something. The standard of looking like hammered **** every other week for the last few years is getting old. At least be consistent..play like hammered **** on a regular basis or get your *** in gear and play like a Steeler!

Bottom line and it starts at the top, Art Rooney II, has got to clean house and bring in a qualified, innovative, young coach who can hire his own assistants. One that has an eye for talent in the draft and F/A. Do not hire a coach because of a rule, because of his race, or association with the Rooney family whether it be because his dad worked for the Steelers in the past. Start fresh. Let the new guy come in with his coaches, and start the clean-up.

Colbert, I'm kind of on the fence with. I think that he may have gotten more credit than he deserved. I think the real eye for talent was Cowher. Either that or Cowher and Colbert had such a rapport and worked together so well, but when joined with this clown, it started to unravel starting with the first draft in 2007. Just look at the 2008 and 2009 drafts. Not a single player on the roster from those drafts. We should have 4 starters and at least 4- role players f rom those drafts.

It should surprise no Steeler fan why we are in the situation we're in. Its been a joke since 2007.

I think that's part of the problem.....they practice against the D everyday and expect a guy to be open. Then when it's game time, an actual defense shows up.

I think Steelhurt could be on to something here.

WHAT IF - Cowher was really good at ID'ng talent and Colbert got more credit than he deserved? Maybe that is why we do not see any developed talent to speak of. Did they completely change the Scouting Dept too?

My logic is that they'll inexplicably beat the best teams in the standings, but continue to lose in embarrassing fashion to the bottom-dwellers.

Seems like I can remember when the whole problem was the OC. So we got rid of him and he went on to show he was a pretty damn good coach. Since then we still struggle in the red zone, still have the QB with a high sack total, and still have a fan base who can always call plays better. Except now we're a .500 team instead of a .700 team. Were some of us wrong also?

Problem with this bunch in this forum is they wanna give Ben a pass...........thru THREE different coordinators and there still exist the problem of more FGs-to-TDs. He just RECENTLY learned to throw a decent screen pass,

Ben is definitely a big part of the problem, but he is the franchise QB and those are pretty tough to come by.

Easier to try and find someone that can give Ben a system to work with than to expect to be able to find a new QB that is potentially better than Ben.

Kyle Shanahan (Cleveland OC) sure called a good game. I wonder if he might make a good HC?

Ben USED TO BE a franchise quarterback. Not sure that's the case anymore.
