Our system is built on the idea that we are governed only with the consent of the governed. No consent, no government. So government's only job really is to protect me, my family and our property.

That's it. That is government's only real job. Governments form, run, and man police departments and the military for that very reason.

So if the government is not going to do the ONE ******* thing they are expected to do, why the hell am I bound by the societal agreement, the agreed-upon governmental contract? You won't arrest rioters and looters, protect me, protect my family or protect my property? Fine. Then I have no obligation to honor the societal agreement, and government can therefore take that tax bill and ram it right up its ***.

If the 140 million of us who actually pay the ******* way for the entire system were to say, for once, "We are out, so go **** yourselves," I can guaran-*******-tee you that things would be fixed RIGHT NOW.

The "consent of the governed" is a long standing idea. Unfortunately, the Machiavellian idea of "maintain power by all means" is also long standing.

One philosophy is stunningly successful and has brought about the greatest expansion of prosperity and liberty our planet has ever seen; the other has been successful only for the few that are currently in power and look to keep and expand that power. One philosophy champions the rights of the governed over the government so well and so successfully it needs to build walls to keep people OUT; the other looks out for itself only and builds walls to keep people IN.

The vile, contemptible rodents looking to destroy our nation are a plague too self-absorbed and too ignorant of history to see that they are the one thing our great nation has successfully fought AGAINST, never FOR.

This is a common historical reality. Countries come and go based on these people. It's sad, but it might just be our turn to go. This could be ugly.

Great post. The social contract is mentioned prominently in the 13th documentary.
