We need him to paint a masterpiece of a game plan.

The last few weeks the offense hasn't shined as it has most of the season. Many factors why that happened but we cant allow that to happen this week.

I liked how we started off getting MB involved early this week. I think that went along way in his confidence as the game went along. That must continue in this week too. We need more Heath Miller action and other TEs. If BB arm is not able to go deep, Haley's creativity must shine. (shiver goes down spine...lol).

I think we have 3 solid and somewhat different backs for this week. I hope all start and rotate throughout. I want them to go into a dump off spot immediately after a quick bump block. BB two looks then dump it off. Chip away, chip away. The injury could be somewhat of a blessing as BB wont be looking for the home run every time. Obviously I would prefer a health Ben, just saying.

depending on Ben's shoulder, it could be a blessing in disguise, get back to a more quick offense with Ben taking less 7 step drops, use more TE's and more quick hitting routes(that aren't WR screens). It seems we've gotten away from that lately and we are looking more deep downfield alot, thus Ben is taking more of a beating.

Ive been wanting more Jessie James on the field too, and giving him looks. I know he is still raw, but he has the speed that Miller just doesnt anymore.

Take what they give you, protect the ball and take your shots when they're there, that's the plan I like, basically, manage the game, Ben will be limited if he plays and Landry Jones is a limited Ben, so either way, manage the game. I think the defense smells blood in the water this week with Manning, he's immobile, his arm strength isn't what it used to be and they got to Osweiler a few times. They will make Manning uncomfortable in the pocket with pressure or at least they should. I like the Steelers this week regardless of who plays quarterback.

I'd like to know if the Bengals changed up anything on D that prevented the ball from going to Heath. He had 10 catches in each of the first two games against the Bengals, and I thought it would still be there on Saturday night...

should be interesting for DEN. Lets say we go up and Manning isnt playing good at all, ie pre Osweiler. Do they pull him or live and die with Manning?

Agreed...

I mentioned that very same thing in another thread yesterday..

If we can get out of Denver..
I got a feelin'...

Yeah the key to this game will be on the defensive side of the ball.. Manning has often been terrible in the playoffs, terrible in the cold, and terrible under pressure. The first two will already be there, we need to give him the trifecta and get lots of pressure. Jarvis earns his paycheck this week

I'm going to say this game is on Butler as well, Manning even when Healthy this year looked to have a dead arm, it's supposed to be in the low 30's, we can't just sit in a 10 yard cushion and rush onlylay three or four guys, if he has time, guys will get open underneath. We need to play man, alot of press and come after him.

I think he'll be aggressive. He learned from the Ryan Mallett debacle.

I bloody well hope so. That was an embarrassment to this franchise and had we not been lucky to squeak into the playoffs in week 17, the stink of that performance would be all we would be able to talk about right now.

The Mallett game was the exact opposite of the Tebow game. Just trying to bait a green QB into mistakes rather than forcing him. With Peyton, you have no choice but to force his hand. Even with a dead arm, he'll pick us apart if he has all day to throw

We started the game Saturday with lots of screens and quick hitter passes. We really didn't move the ball for **** because Cincy was able to make tackles. We will need some big plays for sure. Wish we had an ARE type guy who could get a little trickery out there if Ben can't sling the ball around. I'd even go so far as to dress all 3 QBs and run some decoy with Vick. **** man anything to win this game. We're 2 wins from SB 50. HERE WE GO

O god no Vick! Lol.

Anything for a win but Ahhh I'd cringe anytime he had the rock.

So let's all agree: this game is on Haley and Butler. But if we lose, it's definitely all Tomlin's fault :-)

Steelers need to be prepared to see oswieler at some point too...if manning struggles he will be benched....

Papa Manning is a better option for us to face, imho, than Lee Harvey Osweiler. Papa's arm is gone.

If DeAngelo is available, the Steelers could have a 3 headed monster coming out of that backfield along with our receivers. Could make things very intersting.

All I know is that Denver must have been ******* Crazy even considering the possibility of putting Manning in position to be across the line from Burfict. Can you imagine what that animal would have tried to do to Manning? **** I can see him pile driving him 3 seconds after the ball was out of his hands just to do it.

He would have been ejected for that because it's a manning.

So instead of 5 wide *******, we need some 3 backs *******

If Ben is out, Haley will need his best coached game in years. Essnitlay it would have to be a run, screen and play action type of called game with limted throws over the middle if Landry is the QB.

This is worrying me a bit. Hope it's not because there's been a set-back.

Steelers' RB DeAngelo Williams is visiting noted foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte today, per @JimTrotter_NFL.

We did way to many wr screens and first down runs

DWill going to see a specialist doesn't sound very good. Hopefully just going to confirm a diagnosis?

TnT looked very good against Cincy, though. I don't know about you guys, but as well as Toussaint played, I was wishing Todman would get a few more touches. He was absolutely electric with the ball. Would love to see them throw him some more screens or short passes to get him out in space. Plus, he would be good at KR, but now that he has to play RB, that might not be a wise decision. Then again, how often do we actually see kick returns any more anyway?
