Black Monday is almost here and a few teams got a head start.

Carolina
Fired Ron Rivera during the season. Tepper wants to build the franchise in the mold of the Steelers, yet he just fired one of the better head coaches in the NFL. They seem interested in Mike McCarthy.

Washington
Jay Gruden is out. Talk is they are bringing in Rivera for an interview on Monday and the deal could get done very quickly.

Cleveland
Freddie Kitches was a bad hire last year and once again, the Browns fired a head coach after just one season. A lot of talent (and divas) on this roster. If you can harness the talent, they have a QB, two good WRs, a young TE, and maybe the best RB in the NFL on the roster. However, does an established coach go to such a volatile team?

New York Giants
They fired Pat Shurmur. You have to figure they’ll reach out to Matt Rhule.

Cmon Washington, offer us a 1st rd pick for Tomlin!

Start the new year off with a bang

You know, I can understand the Steelers not firing Tomlin. That said, at the very least he should be informed that his seat is very, very warm.

For me, he gets a lot of acclaim and lately I am not sure what he gets it for. Missed the playoffs the last two years and has only won three playoff games in the last 10 seasons. And that makes him a top 5 coach? Really?

Point is, he has to start getting it done. The status quo is old.

Looks like they are gonna hire Rivera. Pretty bad when the Skins don't want a great coach like Tomlin.

The seat should have been warm for years. This team was stocked with talent and he still couldn't get it done.

If Tomlin is to stay then look into some of these position coaches that can improve a player. OC with some imagination and that Tomlin will allow to do his job.

With all these coaching changes I sure hope the Steelers don't lose any of their coordinators or position coaches to other teams, with them being in demand and all.

I wouldn't have given him an extension like they did last summer.

Status quo for next year. Maybe a QB and WR coach, but I don't see any other maijor changes. 8-8 with the obstacles the team went through is good enough to keep the crew together for Ben. Our HC and OC is here until #7 retires. That goes for all the other coaches are tied to them, as well. The possible cleansing will occur when the first shoe is no longer here.

Has anyone every been poached off the Steelers staff for a promotion?

I know the Steelers let a lot of coaches go because they wanted them gone, but I can't think of one who has left for a promotion when the team wanted to keep them. Munchak turned down opportunities, but he was a HC before coming to Pittsburgh. Going to Denver doesn't fit because his contract was expired.

Atleast Ravens will probably be losing their OC and DC. Fichtner wouldn't even get an assistant video recorder job for another team.

Art2 should hold Tomlin to the same standard that he held Cowher.

I believe it was after 2004 Art2 Told the Press that Cowher needed to win the Super Bowl, which he did in 2005.

If memory serves me correctly Art 2 Thanked him by not extending his contract 2 years out.

Art 2 was a prick to Cowher.

Cowher wasn't the Rooney Rule poster boy.

Tomlin to the Cowboys for Dak!

Solves both teams problems

If Washington wants to make a pitch you damn well better listen. Honestly I could see them calling
I really could.l

I think they’re hiring Ron Rivera.

At the very least I would expect them to be looking for a good OL coach. There is no doubt or debate that this unit looked like it took the most decline of all.

Young Sarrett may be a good guy and a past Munchak disciple but the beating the Duck has been taking surely could have been tempered by some better coaching.Maybe it's just his inexperience and he'll get settled in and maybe not...who's to tell ?

jus sayin'...ya no
