The Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson will not face criminal charges for the accusations made against him:

#Texans QB Deshaun Watson will not face charges. His criminal matters are over. https://t.co/0AqQg0XOpx

This is huge for the quarterback and teams interested in trading for him. The Pittsburgh Steelers are rumored to be among those teams according to Shaun King. It has been said he wanted to play for Pittsburgh Defensive Assistant Brian Flores while he was head coach in Miami.

Watson did not play a single snap last year for Houston this past season. He has made it known he will not play for the Texans and wants a fresh start somewhere else. Now that this is cleared for Watson, the rumors and offers will be piling in. Houston will be asking for a haul for him, but teams will be willing to pay up for his talent. Only time will tell if Pittsburgh is going to make a serious run for the young quarterback or not.

No way I want him. Still could face league sanctions and who knows what that would be. I don’t want the team giving up valuable prime draft picks for this guy.

It's tough to prove "he say, she say" that's why there are no charges being filed. It's also very hard to believe that 20+ women are manufacturing a story...

Agreed. If he's all great he can play in Houston. Good luck Deshaun.

I would not be against him being the Steelers QB

I am against sending multiple 1st rounders for any player
This. But...Looking at Watson's age and experience - this year's 1 and 3 would be just about right to go get a true franchise QB for the next 10 years...

Crazy but I'd do it. I'd even give them Rudy to sweeten the deal!!!

You think Deshaun Watson is gonna play for 10 years? Ok. He made it through one Grand Jury. Wait till the Civil trials start dropping the info.

This was a tough one from the beginning, because this is the reality whether no media outlets mention it....In many, many, many "legitimate" massage places women massage therapists do the touching first...

Who is to really say what happened there....And if it was not consentual why not report it immediately to the authorities ?

I absolutely guarantee that whomever trades for him will know more about what happened for real than the police, lawyers, and probably most of tge people actually involved because those private investigators they have on retainer are the best of the best

Meh id feel skevy about him but offer a second rounder and walk away… teams get desperate and Houston is stupid

In cases like this sending out a lowball offer is smart… you never know when a team is forced to deal a guy and will take what they can get and run… like us with AB or the raiders dumping Moss to the pats

Makes no difference. These cases were pretty much for civil suits anyway. He should still be facing at least an 8 game suspension if not an entire season for conduct detrimental to the league. His accusations are exponentially worse than Ben's and so should his suspension. The Texans holding him out from playing should be irrelevant to what his suspension should be. There is no way I give up the draft capital and cap space for him. No way in hell.

Similar things were said about the last franchise QB in Pittsburgh. Remind me, what is the first thing that any true Steelers fan said when someone brought up Ben's issue?
That said, the media circus that will follow Watson ... I want no part of that

With a no trade clause he can pretty much choose his team. I know the Texans want to unload him. I offer a first this year a second next year and Bush.

If that isn't enough oh well.

Way too much for his situation… regardless of the criminal charges being dropped, the pr hit a team will take getting him is a massive negative for them… his value straight up with no issues is multiple firsts and multiple seconds… like i said id offer a second and another low pick perhaps and let them decide how badly they want him gone… those no trade clauses cut a ton off of what teams can do… if he decides that he wants to play here they sort of have to take what they get or get hamstringed trying to cut him

Reports are that Watson pled the 5th. He offered no rebuttals to allegation against him. How could a grand jury possibly refuse to send this to trial?

This wasn’t a He said She said. This was a She said, then he said nothing, then the jury told the women to get lost.

It will be fun to hear the media who lost their **** over Brett Cavanaugh, who had evidence and witnesses to refute the claims; now be fine with a jury simply rejecting womens claims of assault without the man even bothering to refute anything.

You offer up a hard bargain. Ok I will go with trading Bush, Canada, and our ultra talented GM cooch.

Watson did not testify in front of the grand jury. He pled the 5th during civil depositions that happened today while the grand jury was meeting. Two different proceedings at two different locations.
His actions were no worse than Trump's kid's (Eric) when he was deposed in the civil matter brought by the NYC DA.

"Watson sat for depositions in two of the civil lawsuits against him earlier Friday at the offices of Hardin's law firm, located about half a mile away from the Harris County criminal courthouse in downtown Houston, where the grand jury met.

Watson invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during the deposition, Hardin said."

While he has great football talent.........this type of letter, publicity will follow him around forever. Wait till some more juicy tidbits come out during his upcoming civil trials. With today’s news it seems many say -no charges....no guilt. I,for one am not even closely convinced. Isn’t it amazing how people with big,big bucks can make things disappear.

Do we really want this type of media circus? This is tame compared to what it will be. Especially if we trade for him.
I can read the headlines already.
Correct me if I am wrong.......did I read 35 million cap hit for next season.
I would much rather take a wait and see attitude on this. Actually would rather move on.

You seriously want this piece of **** because at least for now he cannot be convicted of a criminal crime. Really Slash. Very disappointing.

I know I am getting nervous that we will be stuck with jump off a-Bridgewater or Biscuit and cornbread.

See what desperation does to a man?

I still prefer Jimmy G or CrabLegMcPeg.
