College Football Week 10
First week of the Playoff rankings with 1 Ohio State 2 Georgia 3 Michigan and 4 Florida State. Ohio State had to be 1 in this initial poll with wins vs Notre Dame and Penn State. Still plenty of time for things to sort themselves out.
End of an era. This week is the last SEC doubleheader that will be on CBS. The SEC decided to move to ESPN and CBS will upgrade to the Big Ten. SEC will be on ABC/ESPN and Big 10 will be on CBS, NBC and FOX.
11 Penn State at Maryland 3:30 FOX PSU-8
another sluggish week for the PSU offense vs Indiana. But a funny thing happened after Allar threw his first INT of his career, he became more aggressive and hit a big TD pass for the win. Hopefully they can build on that momentum and finally get the offense going.
This is a huge game for MD. Penn State recruits the same areas and so many guys on MD were also offered (or wanted to be offered) by Penn State. Maryland's problem is they recruits lots of speed but not great football players. They don't play well in cold weather.
Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa is all over the place. He makes big plays and big mistakes. Penn State had 2 big coverage bustas vs Indiana that turned into 14 quick points. I'm sure they worked on communication a lot.
Penn State gets Michigan next week. If they want to have a shot, their WRs have to finally step up.
1 Ohio State at Rutgers 12:00 CBS OSU-18.5
OSU vs THE state university of New Jersey. Try the Gabagool
23 Kansas State at 7 Texas 12:00 FOX Tex-4
Texas still without Quinn Ewers at QB. Backup Maalik Murphy was good enough to beat BYU but he did have 2 turnovers. K State is a step up so he'll have to be better. With 1 loss, Texas can't afford another loss if they want to stay alive for the playoffs.
Texas A&M at 10 Ole Miss 12:00 ESPN Miss -3
TAM has a lot of talent but it just hasn't come together to beat good teams. They had close losses to Tenn and Bama. They are staring at a 4th loss which could put the coach on the hot seat and with the transfer portal who knows what that could mean to the program. Miss is still alive for a SEC title spot and needs the win to keep pace.
15 Notre Dame at Clemson 12:00 ABC ND-3
Clemson has 4 losses and Dabo is telling off fans on radio shows. Clemson is loaded with talent but haven't had the QB right since Trevor Lawrence. This would be a great spot for then to stop the program slide if they could put together a complete game.
12 Missouri at 2 Georgia 3:30 CBS UGA-15.5
Georgia was speepwalking through their early schedule but they've started to wake up. The injury to Brock Bowers may have been the thing to get them to focus. This is probably one of the biggest games in Mizz history. I don't think they have enough. It probably doesn't help that UGA being 2 in the playoff poll may have put a chip on their shoulder.
4 Florida State at Pitt 3:30 ESPN FSU-21.5
in the words of Emmitt Smith, last week Pitt got debacled vs Notre Dame. Pitt needs to win out to get bowl eligible. If they can somehow win this one, the rest are winable. FSU may be looking ahead to Miami next week. Might be chilly in Pitt for this one. Could FSU freeze up?
9 Oklahoma at 22 Oklahoma State 3:30 ABC OK -6
The final Bedlam game before Oklahoma leaves for the SEC. Oklahoma gave up 225 yards rushing in last week's loss to Kansas and now they face OK State and the nation's leading rusher Ollie Gordon. OK State would sure love to ruin Oklahoma's playoff hopes and give them a boot in the *** out the door of the conference.
Purdue at 3 Michigan 7:30 NBC Mich-32.5
Lots of eyes on this game because of the blatant cheating by Michigan. Harbaugh is a jerk so he'll probably run up the score after convincing his players that THEY are the ones getting a raw deal. How dare these teams present large amounts of proof of cheating and expect justice. Don't hold your breathe for that. It will be like when the NCAA acknowledged that Cam Newton got paid but did nothing.
6 Washington at 20 USC 7:30 ABC Wash-3
Wash is unbeaten and they are in good shape for the playoffs if they can stay that way. Could the Pac get 2 teams in the playoff? It may be possible if undefeated Wash plays 1 loss Oregon for the PAC title and it's a close game. USC's defense is awful. Penix might have some Heisman moments.
14 LSU at 8 Alabama 7:45 CBS Ala-3
LSU is still alive for a spot in the SEC Title game if they can get this win. Bama looking to stay alive for the playoffs. Bama QB Jalen Milroe has been up and down but the LSU secondary is depleted. LSU QB Jayden Daniels leads the nation in total offense as a dual threat.
