Deflate-gate......God I hate the Pats!!!!

Seriously - watch Nate Solder's TD catch. The Colts are dropping everything throw to them. But here's the Pats' LT releasing into the second level and jumping to make a behind-the-back catch for a 16-yard TD. Yeah. No advantage there.

What should happen is they should be disqualified from playing in the SB. This isn't like spy gate where it was found months later. They know now. But, the league doesn't have the balls to do the right thing. With that said, they should lose all first round picks for two years and lose 10% of their salary cap for 5 years.

This isn't their first offense. The penalty should be very harsh.

The Colts could not stop the run ...just as they have not been able to the last couple/few times these 2 played..that really has nothing to do with a deflated ball..the Cheats were the more physical team...and that usually leads to being the winning team...I just don't see the balls being the reason the Colts lost...maybe a closer game would have come about without the deflated balls...just my opinion ...

To me, that's enough. Changing the competitiveness of the game to any degree is large-scale cheating. Even if it only made 42-7 into 45-7.

I think these are the only 2 they have been caught doing.

"caught" being the most important word here..these 2 were the most obvious and hardest to hide ...but you have to think why stop at these 2 ?

11 out of 12 balls ...all missing about the same amount...I tell you one thing ...someone is in deep trouble for missing that 12th ball

The outcome of the game doesn't matter. One team knowingly gave themselves an illegal advantage over the other team. That is all the league needs to know to come down hard on them.

Any form of cheating should be punished severely in the NFL. They should be disqualified for the SB and have draft picks taken away. This won't happen because Goodall is a huge *****.

Belichek needs a year long suspension for this......what do you do to a franchise that gets caught cheating ? Well, then what do you do to a franchise that gets caught cheating TWICE ???!!!
Suspend his ***, take 2 picks in 2015 and 1 pick in 2016...or better yet, dock them a draft pick for every Touchdown they score in the Super Bowl.

Murderers have walked on technicalities. They're still known as murderers.......and any actual fan of the game (or at least what the game originally was) will always know the truth which is that all *'s accomplishments are tainted and illegitimate. I'm good with that because we'll have to be. This story is over as far as the NFL is concerned.

I read a rumor that Blount was asked to do something to get cut from the Steelers so New England could pick him up. Back then I laughed. Now I wonder if there is a small chance it happened.

I really am not debating cheating or what their intent was behind deflating the balls..they have proven that they will do whatever it takes ..including cheat..I just really don't think its why they won the game against the Colts..and in my mind they should not have had to even try this crap against the Colts because they were the better team...but this win at all costs rules be damned is so ingrained into their culture up there they do it anyway..

I was told in the Blount thread..I watch too much TV for suggesting that...I put nothing...nothing past the Cheats team.

One ball, I might be able to understand. (Not saying I am excusing that, but **** happens sometimes). But 11?

Good on D'Qwell Jackson for bringing this to attention. He deserves the (properly inflated) game ball.

Also 2 lb under when the max allowable is 13.5 is a lot. That's not an accident. I will call them the Pats** with a second * from now on.

I was skeptical about it as well. The conspiracy theory. However, the sudden signing of Blount after the release? I wouldn't be surprised if Bellicheck and Co. tampered with Blount.

Yep. And Bellicheat has the nerve to complain about the Jets tampering with Revis.

Misdirection…activate the burglar alarm for bank A and then rob bank B when everyone is looking at bank A...

Yep, I thought maybe they would find that the balls were .5 or something under and then just brush it off. But 2 whole friggen pounds. Come on, man. I wonder how long they've been doing it.

Over in the Pats forums (i just couldnt help myself...lol), the level of bullshit denial is at Guiness record levels....this **** is laughable and they feel the league is out to get em They are rallying around their team suggesting this is all bulletin board motivation and they wish to see a blowout of the Seahchickens.

Thing is, New England cant win either way....if they win on Sunday, they lose because the court of public opinion will be that they still incorporated some secretive method to gain an advantage.

They realize theyve been exposed with balls that dont meet league gameplay guidelines...but now they want someone to PROVE the team intentionally did it or arranged for it to be done.

Belichek is retiring as soon as Brady does....he couldnt give a rats *** what his legacy is.....theyre both tryin to ride off into the sunset as winners. Unfortunately theyll be categorized as cheaters in my book.

Weak divisional foes with subpar QB play
Stellar talent on his own team with Brady
And the ability and willingness to cheat

All three will ensure a remarkable coaching record and an impressive playoff/SB streak and deem him a coaching legend/genius. Ol Lucky, spineless, sneaky, serpent *******.
Pats have to be impressive to CIA/NSA

It's not the reason they won the game. But, your "in my mind" statement triggered a thought. How many players/coaches knew about this; and what about the "mental" edge it possibly provided them? Say Brady knew. Knowing that the balls were purposefully deflated gives him the confidence to just rip the ball into tight windows or attempt passes he wouldn't normally attempt given the weather conditions. If McDaniels knew, it provides him the confidence to call plays he wouldn't normally call given the weather. Hell, if he knew at the beginning of the week, it changes how he puts together his whole game plan. If Blount knows, it gives him the confidence to run harder; knowing that the ball is not going to be as hard or slippery in the cold, rainy weather and that he can get a good grip. Don't have to worry about fumbling; just run hard.

To me, the mental edge is one hell of a competitive advantage that's being overlooked here.

Wrong.... they want to be known as THE GREATEST Coach/QB team to ever run a team. 3 SB wins won't cut it - 4 Matches them with Noll/Bradshaw (who consistently get downgraded because of the Defense and the number of Hall of Famers) - 5 and they're in a class all by themselves.

They most certainly don't want to quit without that accomplished.

dropping this here.

Does anyone know how much different a football feels from 13 to 11 pounds? I sure don't. Also were the Colts balls tested? The officials have to share some blame, according to the Nfl they are supposed to check the balls they put in play. There just seems to be a lot of jumping to conclusions. If they are found out to have a big difference then i say replay the game, but the outcome will not change. The Pats can run all over them.

OK, I tried it and there is a difference. At 12-13psi the ball is harder to grip than 10-11psi.

EDIT: You can't tell when you are holding it with two hands or you are not squeezing it to throw (so it would not have been picked up by the refs).

I believe illegally taping the Rams practice during the super bowl week gave the New England cheaters the edge they needed to win their first super bowl.

I hope New England is docked its first, second, and third round pick, and the entire coaching staff and equipment manager is fined. Maybe one of their own rats will tell us details.

GO SEAHAWKS.

Funny how ESPN has this as their top story all morning, but nothing on NFL.com?
