Hadn’t seen this on the board yet, but after getting traded from CAR to BAL, it only took a couple weeks before BAL pundits are speculating if the fit is right. And no, don’t believe the one bogus rumor that Johnson was put on BAL practice squad so Tylan Wallace could have a more active role. Yes there is the cryptic tweet he sent out after Bengals game, but it could mean anything. Fact is Dionte pushed for a trade out of CAR, but has only had 25 snaps since reaching BAL, including only two targets on five snaps against CIN (one catch for 5 yards) and Wallace is ahead of him in playing time and depth chart. Who knows what could happen after he gets a better grasp of the offense, or if he pouts like he did in Charlotte from not getting most of the targets.

I've been reading stuff on a couple of Rat boards. Some are peeing their pants in fear over Russ to Pickens and now Williams...others are saying that's all Russ has(moonball) and they are going to crush us. I think the latter is copium. We should light them up as their pass D is the worst in the NFL. It's going to be a shootout we win and DJ is going to see what he missed out on for getting complacent and lazy while he was wearing black and gold.

There's a reason Dionte was traded out of the Burgh even if it meant leaving the wide receiver room extremely thin at the time.

You don't get first round talent in the third or later without troubles. The Steelers are gonna have to pay Pickens tge going rate for a star receiver. They have to decide if the antics and the pouting and the sometimes lack of effort are worth it. But damn when he is good......

Or they could trade him for 2 1sts?

Probably one. And you could maybe get his talent. I'd say if you are going that route it would be like the line this year double down on the position. Get a first and second and even if you are down some talent in George the unit as a whole might be better.

On the radio today here near Baltimore, they were saying that DJ will have a much bigger role moving forward.

I don't know, Pickens would be hard to replace. He just has insane body control. I have not really seen him pouting this year and he is celebrating with teammates on TDs. I think trading him would be a mistake

We all watched Johnson be a problem in live action last year as well as heard stories of antics in the locker room. The Steelers confirmed this when they shipped him out of town. Him continuing to be a problem in Carolina and Baltimore would be news.

He’s also blocking much better as well.

Meh...**** DJ. He is a rat now. We moved on from him.....that is all that matters.

Russ has given us an aspect on offense we haven't seen since Ben. A complete playbook. No dig on Fields, Pickett etc....I believe the HC shackled the play calling at times for them where he hasn't for Russ. Russ has produced to date. Hopefully we continue to ride the Russ show to the SB!!! Hoping our D tightens up some. We don't need elite, but we definitely need way above average. Playmakers need to make at least some plays.

I think Tomlin is letting Russ be Russ. The way Wilson is working with Art Smith is also the key. Nathaniel Hackett and Sean Payton were trying to turn Russ into something he’s not.
It’s great to see Wilson with his swagger back. He’s giving confidence to his offense and his defense. He’s also a great PR machine for the team.

I do see they have opened up the offense for Russ. In the end he has made plays. As for thr rest of it...PR....giving confidence to the defense....meh. what ever. Dude was brought in to ball out on offense. **** the rest of it!!!! 🤪

Another thing we hadn't seen since Ben ... audibles. Love the fact that Russ checks the Mike, checks the front, and about 8-9 times per game changes the play call.

Wanna walk the LB'ers up to the LOS and go on-one-one? Okay, deep ball to Pickens or Williams in single coverage. Want to drop the 2nd safety back to 2-deep? No problem, Najee up the A-gap.

I’ve seen a lot more frustration than pouting from him. The media sure has tried to trip him up several times and he didn’t take the bait of the **** narrative they were kicking out. Sad lazy reporters trying to get clicks by getting him to say something stupid.

He’s had every right to be frustrated with the QB play his first couple years and an incompetent OC basically shackling him. He’s had to overcome a lot of hurdles trying to dig out of the hole of ineptitude. Only a blind fool wouldn’t be frustrated in that cage he was in.

Amazing that as soon as a competent QB and OC take charge that he is playing more to his abilities and not seeming frustrated as he can actually start realizing his potential as one of the best in the league. All the sudden he’s giving maximum effort as he’s actually seeing pieces fall into place around him. Those previous fools were literally going to cost him many millions.

Pay the man!

DK Sports isn’t one of those reporters looking for clicks. It seems he is pretty straight forward and long term reporter that’s been allowed access. He speaks the truth and respects the off-record comments, most talking heads use of off record comments for the clicks.

GP is doing great and his team mates seem to naturally like him. He seems to work hard and the no-nonsense WR coach seems to like his work ethic.

That STEELERS way of a little extra, seems to be contagious with more players than just George.

PS

I don’t think anyone of the players are ****-ing their pants in fear of Deonte Johnson coming to the BURGH.

I liked DJ's ability to route run & get open...I didn't like the play he quit on last year...Once he did that I knew he was gone

is DJ the only receiver in all of football "known for his route running"

I never hear that for anyone else

if I was a receiver, I'd want to be known for my catching the football or running North after a reception
