Dr. Wallace should remain the starter at LG. Our running game was much improved with Wallace in there. He is a road grater and a real gritty tough as nails OL. Something Foster isn't! I love that he plays with a mean streak! Something so desperately needed for a O-line trying to establish an identity.

Agree 100%. Carolina has a good defensive line and athletic linebackers, and the Steelers offensive line (plus Heath, Spaeth and Johnson) dominated the defense. Just freaking dominated them.

Wallace was a big part of that.

I for one, thought he played well in both aspects of the game (pass / run). I watched at the bar, so didn't get to review anything. But my impression was he did good.

Salute the nation

Wallace may not be as stout against the rush but he is a MUCH better run blocker and "gets there" where Foster doesn't.

The whole line looked better tonight. They moved the ball well took advantage of some things they were given but the line looked good. Our tackles still need help but the line was much better tonight.

Lucky to have the nut cracker on the squad. I prefer maulers to technicians personally. But Foster is pretty highly regarded. Hopefully this performance spring boards the oline.

Foster is not as athletic as Wallace Wallace is better in pass protection since he is more agile while foster is a plodder who gets has trouble vs the bullrush twist I hope munchack pleads with Tomlinson regardless of foster health keep Cody in there.

The Fister is better than the Foster, no doubt. This might be the combination they need. Maybe Munch is beginning to make a difference.

I think a film review will show that most of the plus yardage runs came from the Pouncey, DeCastro, Gilbert side of the line. So, I'm not ready to anoint Wallace.

I saw Wallace several times go off-man (i.e., he was assigned to block the defender not lined up over him) and get to the defender to make the block.

Foster just cannot make that block. That allowed Pouncey, Decastro and Gilbert to take care of the left side of the defense, since Wallace was blocking the defender that Pouncey would otherwise have to block.

When they did run to the left side you could see the push Wallace was getting and the backs following his blocks. He had a great game tonight. Did an excellent job in pass protection and run blocking.

If that happened (and I'm not saying it didn't) then he's making a case for himself. It will be interesting to see what the film shows. Anyone here get the All-22 tape subscription that can give us the 411?

DeCastro took a personal for getting in the middle of a fracas and pushing blue jerseys away from a Steeler.
I'll take mean *** O Linemen any day of the week. Somebody lit a fire under these boys. This is not the same level of play I saw in Baltimore. That offensive effort looked like a bunch of narrow ***** without a purpose. I can't wait for the next game to see if this is the identity this O Line is embracing!

Defense didn't completely collapse after losing three starters, either. Although, I can't say that Jones is better than Moats just because he is the "starter" and Spence, I think, has the knowledge of a veteran, if not the game experience.

Punctuation is your friend.

Whatever it was, our O-line looked great last night. To have two runners with well over 100 yards is something we haven't seen in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. Love the way Bell is patient and sets up his blocks. Then you have Blount who just plows through no matter what. If these guys stay healthy and Haley stays out of the way, this O could be very fun to watch.

Watch that 81yd run by Bell and watch Pouncey and Wallace on that play...they are just as big a part if not bigger than DeCastro & Gilbert. Wallace gets help from Pouncey as he chips Wallace's man then Pouncey gets to the second level on LB'er and that is what helped spring Bell. Great play by Pouncey.

Wallace is a beast. He came in last year and played center very, very well. I hope he stays in there and they put foster on the bench as the backup. I didn't see him make a single mistake last night, I wasn't looking specifically at him, but when you don't notice it, that's generally good as an olineman.

I think both Moats and Spence are upgrades, ie until Shazier gets more experience.

What is embarrasing is Kuechly's basketball inspired dive on that play...

So, others on here stated that Wallace had a good game and should replace Foster.
I disagreed.
I was wrong. Apparently most of Blount's yards came on the Pouncey, Wallace, Beachum side in the second half.
Also, on Kovacevic's site, he mentions that the staff had Wallace as grading out very well for the game and to not be surprised if we see Wallace out there sometimes on Sunday. He makes a point to say that Wallace won't be supplanting Foster though.
In any event, Wallace played a better game than I thought and the crow tastes very good with Fava beans and a nice Chianti.
