So after about 15 years, I've canceled NFL Ticket.

I'll probably still watch the Steelers' nationally televised games, but the league won't ever see a nickel of my money ever again. And I really don't feel the same way about the Steelers as I have in the past, so its likely just a short time before I put all of the NFL in my rearview...

New year man, hang in there.

Some of these rookies are a exciting watch. Humble and hungry, perhaps zero in on them.

I was a hardcore subscriber until 2 years ago when I cancelled mine. I had been a continuous subscriber since it was first offered, when I called to cancel they could have cared less. I have also found ways to watch for free.

Will watch every Steelers game, including pre-season, from kickoff till the ending whistle. Will also watch all the press conferences with Tomlin & asst. coaches, whenever I have a chance. Love this team, love this game. Thank God for NFL Game Pass, never have to miss any action, best thing since sliced bread. Go Steelers!

This thread actually got me pumped to watch RedZone. The NFL rarely fails to deliver with so many exciting finishes nearly every week.

As much as I *****, moan and complain about the NFL. I cannot give up on the Steeler's. We go visit camp for a day. Go to a preseason game and 2-3 games a year. We would go to more but it's 2 1/2 hours drive and I have a hockey problem.

I got tired of the Direct TV nonsense. I cut them years ago. I haven't missed a Steeler snap or a Penguins puck drop in years. Streams can be found.

I cut my NFL ticket 2 years ago - but I still love the Steelers - unfortunately I live in Memphis and just can’t get every game but watch all I can

I'm pretty much in the same boat (minus being able to go to camp or a game in Pitt). I just love my Steelers too much. Streams can be found, but the key is quality streams. I think it was Cope who was generous enough giving out the USTVNOW information last season, but I also found a decent stream in sportsarefree.xyz I think. I never had any lag/buffering issues and never had any other overwhelming ad or malware issues.

DirecTv is dead.
It’s AT&T now and they’ve always suuuuuuuucked.

I haven't paid in years but I feel the same. NFL has ****** with me too often. I still manage to see every game aside from the games that are played while I'm working...Monday and Thursday...I hate games not being televised at any time other than Sundays at 1p.

What's your reason? Anthem protests? Quality of play?

Agreed.

You get the first game of the year for free on the Sunday ticket. The Steelers are usually on the Pay channels I have or free tv at least six times a year. So I spilt the difference by going to Steeler bars when they are not on the tv channels I pay for.

You do realize that some of those "FINISHES" are manufactured............right???

Salute the nation

I live between DC & Richmond and get local broadcast networks from each and every Steeler game was on regular TV last year.
Because they draw ratings, they become the preferred game to broadcast.

I may not like my boss.....but I like my paycheck
I may not like my utility company....but I like electricity
I may not like directv.....but I love the Steelers.

Sometimes, I gotta deal with the stuff I don't like to get what I want.

I am out of market. I need to see more than the 5-8 nationally televised games.
Last year I gave a sports bar another shot. I can't deal with fans of our opponent in the same room, and now that I have kids that want to watch with me that is easily equally expensive.
I'll deal with the sunday ticket and the evil empire.

A few years ago, I was where you are. After being a rabid NFL fan my whole life, there were a couple seasons from around 2013-2016 or so where I had Steeler games on in the background but didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the games. It had become more of a tradition thing at that point. And I did not watch any other teams games those seasons. It was during the height of when they really started cracking down and trying to legislate the football out of playing football.

While my fandom has never returned to what it was in my youth, I've found that the past two seasons my interest has picked back up a little. I don't know if I've grown to accept that the football I grew up with is gone and never coming back or what. I'm glad that some of my interest has returned but I know I will never come all the way back to being that rabid football fan again. Hell maybe it's because I'm getting old.

I come to this board mostly for keeping my fandom in interest.
Like you I've lost the interest in football around the same time.

I think we grew a lot with the Cowher era players. Takes awhile to adjust to the current era and current generation at that.
I think everyone will be alright come kick off time lol.

We got a year of it for free two years ago when we switched to Comcast but hardly watched it. We do live in the Steelers' TV market though.

still, make it to a game once a year from Toronto. I juat cant give up the Steelers it is too deep in my blood now

I used to call DirectTV and threaten cancelling and they would refer me to the "retention" department that would give me it for free.

Seems they don't do that anymore.

I feel the same way. The Al Riveron/Jesse James thing was likely the second-to-last nail in the coffin for me. No reason to devote so much of my time to a game that looks very little like the one I grew up loving.
