Steelers current Playoff and Division status

I would rather play KC or Baltimore in the playoffs. Miami and Cinci we would have to win a shootout, I cringe thinking of what those guys could potentially do to our secondary. Want no part of seeing Chase or Hill, Waddle and Achane in the playoffs.
Tua is 0-8 when the temperature is 45 degrees or less. I'll take my chances with the Dolphins.

IIRC if we sweep the rest of the regular season games, Tomlin will pass Chuck Knox in all time wins.. so there is that....

Chuck Knox ??????????????

tomlin has 183.... Knox is at 186
The highest Tomlin can go this year is 187, passing Knox

Now next year he will have a chance to pass Dan Reeves, at 190, and Chuck Noll at 193...
With a magnificent season He could even catch Shottenhiemer at 200..

a minimum 10 win non-losing season, that ups the anty.

Definitely a necessity. IIs been a long time I’ve seen any playoff team without impact injuries tomstarters

Right now we have a big impactful starter out, George Pickens with a hammy. We both know Hammies can be difficult, regardless of severity of the injury.

My hope is they keep him benched until absolutely necessary, if he heals & practices properly (i have faith in their decisions on this).

we shall see. Hopefully you are correct, but Tomlin’s D history is not on your side.
Tomlins last 3 playoff games he gave up averaging over 40+ points. Some great defensive coach. Fraud.

So?

What does that mean for this year?

Thanks no one has ever mentioned this. How long has it been since he won a playoff game?

Well, basing on how his D has done the last THREE times they've made the playoffs, not so great. Do you think 3 consecutive years is meaningless? His D has averaged giving up 40+ points 3 years in a row. His D has really just s--- the bed.

I do think it is meaningless. Again, if the past meant something, the Steelers would have never won a Super Bowl due to their prior 40+ years of futility. Noll wouldn't have won anything, because he lost 2 years in a row in the playoffs before '74.

The past doesn't mean shiit for this year.

The D doesn’t shyte the bed in the playoffs, they play the same all year. The difference is that during the year you have crap teams to balance out the games against better teams. In the playoffs, the teams you get to play are better teams that destroy Tomlin’s Defense. Combine that with the fact that the playoff games they have played, they backed into them and got the BEST teams early.

The Browns game was an overall disaster. KC and Buffalo were not good matchups for us. I think Buffalo could put up 40 on us again, but i doubt this year's version of KC would. I do think Reid will come up with a better scheme than Tomlin and KC managed to win it all last year with a mediocre offense so it could be an interesting matchup

Well, well, well, lookie here.

It was right on cue. Coach Lloyd couldn’t help himself.

And typically didn't have many key players as we had less depth.

Anyway you wants to slice it, giving up averaging 40+ points for 3 games in the playoffs ain't good or anything to brag about. You can make excuses all day, but bottom lines is that giving up an average of over 40 points a game for 3 playoff games isn't gonna win you many games and it hasn't (on a 7 year no playoff game non-win streak). Tomlin can act all cocky all he wants but his defenses aren't cutting it in the postseason. If we ever want to win a playoff game, our D is gonna have to play better than averaging giving up 40+ points. Those fans who get scringy when having to face Mediocre'f production need to accept that.
